Welcome to the Portal. My name's Danielle F. Ducrest. Maybe you got here through a link on one of my business cards. Maybe you followed a link I posted in my e-mail signature or on a web site. Maybe you found my site listed in an archive or a web ring. However you got here, I'm glad you're visiting (I am curious to know how everyone got here, and I'd love to hear from you through e-mail, if you're willing). The sites listed to the right are archives of my artwork, beaded jewelry and my original fiction. Two of the sites are under construction, but Unbound Pages, the fiction site, is complete.

Since February 2009, I've created necklaces with pendants made of beaded sewing bobbins. They've proved to be popular so far. A gallery of my necklaces is available at Bead and Bobbin. I'm from Louisiana. If my habits in recent years are any indication, I'm attempting to live in as many locales as possible within the US. I'm working to get my MFA in Creative Writing at Texas State University. I acquired my BA in Creative Writing with minors in Visual Art and Literature at Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, FL.

My fantasy fiction explores the lives of genies or winged people, a society of mages or a family affected by time travel. Read excerpts and please let me know what you think by visiting Unbound Pages.

The third site, Needle, Pen & Brush, is my artwork site. Beadwork is my favorite medium, but it's not even close to being the only one. I've also done prints, drawings, paintings, paint pen art, macrame and graphics.
